Music Directors
The Music Directors of Tees Valley Voices are Kate Robinson and Elizabeth Shevels.
Kate is an excellent singer, pianist and violinist, currently teaching in the music department of Ian Ramsey School in Stockton.

In her CV Kate writes: "My two biggest passions have always been music and working with young people. So, it seemed a natural progression to become a teacher of music. However, outside of my career music also plays a major role in my life. As a first study violinist, I enjoy playing in various ensembles; currently as a member of the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra and the Northern String Ensemble. As well as playing violin I also play the piano and sing, and have enjoyed putting these skills to use both in and outside of the classroom."
Liz Shevels is Head of Music at The King's Academy, Middlesbrough.

Liz attended Egglescliffe School and was a founder member of Tees Valley Youth Choir. She studied singing and piano at the Royal Scottish Academy, then taught both to individual pupils at Polam Hall School. At this time, she worked as one of the first Tees Valley Voices tutors and as accompanist to Quay Voices, The Sage Gateshead youth choir. Liz completed her PGCE in 2008. She is a soprano soloist, a composer and arranger, and has been Music Director for several music theatre productions.
Both Music Directors are CRB checked at the Enhanced Level.
